Welcome:  President Jacki Shambaugh opened today’s meeting. 
Lunch:  Coffee, salad, burgers, sandwiches, and fries and ice cream cake for desert.
Rotary Moment:  President Jacki shared her Rotary Moment with us today.  During her trip to the Cape her son noticed the Rotary symbol along the highway.
Visiting Rotarians:  Brian Ahearn from Buffalo NY (Soon to be joining our club).  Brian also brought some breads from The Berkshire Farms for raffle prizes.
Announcements:
  • Neal Waldman.  The Chess Tables planned for the library patio are installed and ready for use.   • Larry Ramondi – reminded us that the Navy Band will be playing August 16th at the Rotary Pavilion at 6pm.  8 piece band.  This event is sponsored by the Danvers Rotary.
  • BOTTOM’S UP – Update -  It was reported that Larry DeLorenzo’s event was a big success.   $17,000 was raised with close to 500 people in attendance.  This Tribute was for Jeff DeLorenzo on August 3rd at the Danversport Waterfront Patio.  There was LIVE music featuring “Horizon & The Horns – Ray Novak and a DJ.  All proceeds went to the Boys and Girls Club of Salem.  NOT TOO LATE TO MAKE A DONATION:  If you would like to make a donation – please contact Larry.
  • Dan Dougherty – Wiffle Ball – reminder that we have a tourney on August 11 at Danvers HS.  We need volunteers, Sponsors and Players.  Spread the word.  This is a BIG Fundraiser for the Club.  Flyers and Posters have been distributed  VOLUNTEERS:  This Friday at 1PM at the Danvers Y, Jason Alain and John Somes need help putting tables and chairs in the truck.  Dan is looking for volunteers to join him Saturday morning at 8-8:30am to help with set up.  Also – If you have ICE – bring it on Saturday. 
  • June 28th – Concert at the Rotary Pavilion
  • Rotoplast – Gary reminded us that Rotary International is still looking for volunteers to help with the Rotoplast mission.
  • Farmers Market – Matt Schroeder updated us on the success of the market.  Vendors keep coming back.  We have over 20 vendors and more produce should be coming in weeks to come.  If you have not visited – make sure you stop by. Matt also passed around a sign-up sheet – looking for Rotarians to volunteer the day of the market.
  • Farmers Market – Neil W. reported that last week there was a nice showing and the vendors said they were having a wonderful time.

Raffle:  State Representative, Teddy Speliotis and Larry Raimondi were are Lucky LOOOOOOOSers !!  But we had 2 conciliation prizes.  Our Lucky Winner:  was Larry Raimondi two times in a row and he won some gourmet bread thanks to Brian Ahern.
So…..Larry had 3 raffle tickets and he was picked on all 3.  Now that’s a Rotary Moment!!!
